A poor girl's wish list

Just last night I discussed with Travis that we would only buy necessities for the next couple of months. Then this morning Nordstrom's was advertising their half-yearly sale. EXCELLENT sale. Now I need to figure out how these are needs, because honey, they are just too great of a deal to pass up.

BP Cardigan $24-Could go with quite a bit actually, plus many colors to choose from.Sevens Normally $179, currently $99 (REALLY!)
Boots. I like that they are cute and still flat so I'm not too tall :)
Regularly $159, currently $99
Rock and Republics $139 (a good price from $208)

Ed Hardy's. Mine currently have many holes and these are only $42

So there you have it my friends. In the hole $403, when I could have been in the hole $664. Do you think that justifies it? Probably not. Maybe I will get a job.

Now if only I had a butt that would look good in these jeans. I have NO-BUTT SYNDROME. True story, look it up.

Disneyland Day 5

Lots of pictures today! We just hung out as our little family and did the things Myles wanted to do and took lots of pictures.
Sorry Trav, this was the best picture of Myles, Mayzie and Myself. You've got your eyes closed though!

Myles was SO excited to meet MICKEY MOUSE!

Playing in Donald Duck's boat.

Of course he had to drive all of Toon Town's cars. Huge fit before Goofy's because he wanted to get in on the driver's side and we walked to the passenger's side. OH BOY! Good thing I love ya kid.

We got to go see Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on stage. Very fun. We met the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters, Handy Manny and his tools, Little Einsteins, and all the characters from My Friends Tigger and Pooh. They were planning a birthday party for Minnie.

It wouldn't be Disneyland without trying on a few hats!

My favorite picture of all. Travis, Myles, and I have this same picture 2 years earlier. It's amazing to see how much we've changed.

DISNEYLAND! (days 1,2,3, & 4)

We went to Disneyland this last month. It was a blast! Of course we always love Disneyland, but it was even better because Chuck, Amy, Lisa and Tom were able to go with us.

Day one: Friday

We left EM city at 7 a.m. Mayzie slept until Vegas where we stopped at Macaroni Grill for lunch at 11:30, then we drove until we hit Anaheim. We got there at about 5:00. The kids were great! Myles was so happy the whole way there and Mayzie just slept. We were in Nephi and Myles said, "Where's Disneyland? I can't see Disneyland." That was pretty much our conversation every 5-10 minutes for the 10 hour drive. LOVE IT!

Day two: Saturday

We got to Disneyland at 9:00 am. The weather was great! About 85 all day long. We were dumb and didn't take many pictures this day, but thankfully Tom did. I will get them on here as soon as possible. We also found out Myles is VERY allergic to Honeydew. Thank goodness for benadryl. That kid was all rashed out and puffy like the stay-puffed marshmellow man. Also, we didn't plan ahead and only brought one pacifier, which Mayzie lost within 20 minutes of Disneyland. Good thing for the baby center that carried the exact brand she uses!

Day three: Sunday

We PLANNED to go to the beach at about 11, but breakfast got all screwed up at our condo so we went to McDonalds and the kids fell asleep on the way back to the condo. Out cold. So the parents fell asleep too. Then we left at 3 to go to the beach, but decided to meet up with Tom, Lisa, Chuck and Amy at the Newport Beach Temple. Good thing because they got lost on the way and we had to use the GPS to find them, then find the temple. On the way we passed a Masarati dealership. They were featuring a two-door car. On the windshield was written "500 Horsepower W.O.W." I must say that it was pretty freaking awesome. Travis then informed me that my little car might have 100 horse power.

We got some great pictures at the temple. It was beautiful.

Mayzie liked the grass for... oh about 2 seconds. She is NOT happy about sitting on the grass here.Myles thought it would be funny to push her over on to it. It wasn't funny to Mayzie!Day 4: Monday

We headed back to Disneyland as they opened. While everyone else went straight to Space Mountain (we got babyswap passes), we went to do the rockets. Myles was eyeing them on Saturday, but because of the super long lines we didn't do it. He was STOKED to do them this morning. He first went with Trav, then me, then Amy! He loved it. I felt a little sick.

Myles was very excited to meet Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger! We were going to go over to California Adventure when Myles fell asleep in his stroller. Lisa stayed out with the kids while the rest of us when on Indiana Jones! Love that ride.Myles got to meet Dopey in California Adventure. We also ate lunch at the Blue Bayou. It was delicious! I will get pictures of that up soon too.

I love my boy

Myles is VERY much a two-year old. I keep saying that I think we should skip his 3rd birthday and move him straight to being a four-year old. I think it would be so nice to have him be able to dress himself, entertain himself, feed himself, etc. Those things would be nice, but I am stupid to wish what he is doing now away. I love that he still WANTS me to do things for him. Sometimes it drives me crazy that he still wants me to feed him breakfast so that he can watch cartoons, but would I get that time where I just sit next to him if I didn't feed him breakfast? He still loves to give me hugs and kisses. He also likes me to lay by him at night. Last night Mayzie and I put him to bed. He likes Sis to lay by him on his pillow while I sing the couple of songs he loves, then we tuck him in and I tell him I will come back after I put Sis to bed. It took Mayzie awhile to get to sleep last night (about 45 min) and when I was done I got Travis' lunch ready. I went back in to check on him and he was just sitting on his bed, in the dark, singing to himself. He said, "You come to lay by me now?" I told him yes and he said, "I wait for you mommy, I love you so much." Ah, just remembering that moment makes me tear up. I love that little boy. I know exactly why our Father sent him to us so quickly after we were married and why He sent Myles before Mayzie. He is so tender and good with his sister. Travis usually brings Mayzie in around 5:30 AM to eat and then she just stays in bed with me and sleeps until 8ish or whenever Myles wakes us up. Myles will come get in my bed and lay by her, hold her hand, and start singing her songs. He adores his sister and Mayzie adores him. She would much rather play with her brother than me or Travis. I Love that.

Myles was pulling his sister around on his sled. Notice how she would rather look at him than anything else? He also put his doggie, Lucky, on the sled next to her.

Pictures of Skye

Here is a few pictures of Kimmi's new little girl. There is more details at the end of the next post and I can't wait to get more pictures as soon as she is home from the NICU.

Finally some pictures!

A friend of mine wanted to practice taking newborn pictures so here is a few pictures of when Mayzie was 9 days old! So tiny! There were so many great ones to choose from, but here are a few. Don't worry family, you will get some! Thanks Erin.

A couple of weeks ago we went up the canyon for a Cafe Rio picnic and then to just play. It was the first and last time we went this summer and I'm a little bummed we didn't do it more often. Tom and Lisa were coming down from Heber and met up with us for about 20 minutes. Just in time to take a few pictures.Karley and Camryn went swimming with us a couple of times to the Lindon Pool. That is a really great pool because it is very toddler/kid friendly. Mayzie is quite the fish. She loved splashing around and looked so cute in her little pink bikini. (although, she also enjoyed eating the flower on her bikini)I mentioned a little bit ago that Myles started preschool. His Grandma Shirley works as a teacher there and so he goes for free on two afternoons a week. I like it because he is getting some great experiences with other kids and even though I teach him a lot at home it is good for him to get a different type of learning environment. It is also nice for me to have some one-on-one time with Mayzie and get the things done that I don't quite know how to do with two kids. Grocery shopping? How do you get anything when the cart is already full with a toddler in the seat and a infant in a car seat in the cart? Still need to figure out that one. Here is a picture of Myles in his school uniform. He has a cute little apron and a little red bag he brings home from school.
I also took a few pictures of Mayzie. We were just playing and she was looking so cute. I can't believe how much she has changed in the last 5 months. I miss that newborn-ness. She has such big, beautiful eyes.

Travis' step-sister, Kimmi had her baby on Thursday, September 24. I got to be there for pretty much the whole birth, aside from the 10 minutes I stepped out to feed sis! It was so cool. Little Skye was born at 34 wks and 3 days. She is pretty big for a 34 weeker. She weighed in at 5 pounds 10 ounces. She is doing really well and is already off the IV. Kimmi has started trying to nurse her, but it will take a bit for Skye to learn how to suck. I still can't tell you how cool it was to help Kimmi have her little girl. Thanks Kim for that amazing experience. Everything went pretty good for the labor and delivery. On Wednesday Kim went into see Dr. Saunders and she was dialated to a 4. He also thought she was leaking amniotic fluid so he sent her to the hospital to be checked. They actually couldn't tell for sure, but they hooked her up and she was definitely having lots of contractions. 3 shots of Terbutaline, 2 steriod shots for Skye's lungs, an over-night stay and there was nothing they could do to stop her labor. So at 7 in the morning she was started on the antibiotics for Group B-a precaution because she hadn't been tested yet. Then at 11 they started the pitocin. I got there at 11:30. Things were going fairly smoothe. She could talk through her contractions, then all of the sudden her water fully broke and things really sped up. FINALLY at 1:30 she got her epidural. At 2 Dr. Parker checked her and she was fully dialated. Poor girl had to push for nearly 2 hours, but Skye was born at 3:43. Cute little thing and MUCH bigger than I expected which is great. She struggled a little at first and Kimmi wasn't able to hold her because the pediatricans had to work really fast to get Skye to breathe. I was really worried, but she is doing just fine now. Way to go Kimmi!
p.s. I give props to all the coaches out there! That is not an easy thing to do!

Where did it go?

Summer, I miss summer. Not for the heat, actually I really don't like the heat. I would much rather it be cold and dark at 5 pm. A huge excuse to stay in doors and play. Although I do like Wine's Park in the summer because it is completely shaded and therefore doesn't make outside totally miserable. I loved this past June because of the rain too.

Ok, the real reason I miss summer. I didn't have school, Travis didn't have school, (which meant he was home at 5:30 every night) and I wasn't working as much either. We are so busy now that we don't get to enjoy the weekends because it is spent catching up on everything I missed throughout the week. I need to figure something out. Alright, goal for the week. Have all my housework and laundry done by 2 on Friday so that when Saturday comes and we actually get to be together, we can and I'm not stressed. Let's see if that helps.

The life of the first 5 years eh? We are working like mad so it isn't like this after we've been married 5 years. Please let that happen. Well, I'm off to work.

We're still alive!

I just wanted to give a quick update. Life is busy! Both Travis and I are back in school. I only go Tuesdays and Thursdays, but he goes Mon-Thurs. Trav is still working with the "trailer company" for now. I'm doing quite a bit of babysitting, cleaning, and piece work for Covenant Communications.

Myles has also started preschool and LOVES it! He gets so excited. He knows his teacher is Miss Jessica and he gets to see Grandma Shirley. His first day was this past Thursday and went I went to pick him up Miss Kathy asked if he had ever been to school before because he did really well and "He loves to dance". Ha, I guess all he did in Grandma Shirley's class was dance. Funny kid.

Mayzie had her ears pierced on Aug 19 and they look so darn cute! She is growing a ton and so much fun to be around. She has just started on cereal (thanks Mom!) and LOVES it. She eats it every night before bed. She just slept 11 hours through the night the other day and I couldn't believe it. Hopefully we will see more of this!

Life is great. I need to put up pictures, but for now this is all I have. Hope everyone is doing great!

Happy Birthday Kar!

Hey Kar! Just wanted to tell you Happy Birthday and that I'm so glad you are my sister and that we can be such good friends. I know that sometimes I am just a major pain in the butt and I always copy everything you do, but it's because I don't like to try new things (even clothes) without seeing someone else do it first. Thanks for always putting up with all the annoying things I do and for always being a listening ear even when it seems all I do is complain. You are a really great friend and confidant. You are such an awesome aunt to Myles and Mayzie.

I was thinking about all the funny stuff we used to do. Remember "We'll work for Chocolate". Ya, you know what I'm talking about Amy! Another great one is going down to the cabin with Lindsey and Amy and seeing how many underwear we could get to fly off the fan and stick to the ceiling. Remember when we bought that huge thing of tiny locks and put every single one on our belt loops when we were going to fly to California so that we would make the metal detectors go off? Mom and Dad were so mad! Going on a "scavenger hunt" and telling everyone that all we needed was a roll of toilet paper so that we could get enough to toilet paper the Chipman's house. When we went to the grizzly game with Amy and my butt ended up on the big screen. All for a stupid hot dog. Sunshine with Jocelyn and Angie and getting a certain person kicked out of the tournament, you were definitely worth it though! Making boys sing Amazing Grace on the phone before they got to talk to me. Putting 5 dollars of gas in the Subi so we could make it to Seven Peaks while it shook at 60mph on the freeway. Every morning before schoon's class going out to spray starter fluid in the subi to start it so we could pump up the tires before we left for school only to have it run out of gas before we got to the light by Andra's. Schoon's class in general. Midnight runs to Beto's. Convincing Trav to ask Dad if he could marry me, then video taping him and listening on the stairs. I'm pretty sure the list could go on and on. So, if any of you readers have some great stories please leave them in the comments!

This is Karley getting ready for her senior prom. Pretty sure Lauren took this picture.Clint and Karley right before they were engaged. Coming to visit Myles after he was born.Clint and Kar at the Logan TempleLuckily Karley was able to see Mayzie right before she took off to Philadelphia.
When we were both at home you used to drive me crazy when you would leave your tooth brush out and the tooth paste would get all over the counter. Or you would just use mine. Then you wouldn't ever hang your towel back up and so you would again just use mine. You were constantly trying on or taking my clothes and NEVER putting them back in their color-coordinating spots. Ok, actually you just left them on my floor. Sometimes I wonder how we didn't kill each other.
Then I think about all the times you were so nice to me. Letting me hang out with your friends. When you were going out to the mall or to get food you would ask if I wanted to come along. You are a very kind a loving person. You easily go with the flow and can be spontaneous. You know how to make people feel good with your sincere compliments. You are always looking out for others and trying to help them. You are quick to apologize or forgive. I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I'm glad to know we will always be friends. Thanks for all you do for me and for always thinking of me. I hope you had a great birthday yesterday!
Love always, Kris

Discovery Gateway

We went to Discovery Gateway for play-group last week and it was a lot of fun. Myles loved it. Cam and Karley are in town for a month so they came with us.
Myles loved playing in the LOCKERS of all things. It kind of scared me because he could have gotten locked in so easily if someone thought they were being funny.
Don't cha love that the only picture I have of Mayzie she has spit-up all down the front of her! I had no idea! Oops.
This picture of Cam cracks me up! She is so adorable. Gah, I love this girl!

Road Trip

We took Mayzie's first road trip to Yellowstone, WY. We went up with Trav's mom's family to stay in a cabin. We were only able to stay a day, but it was still fun. There were 30 of us. Trav's Grandpa and Grandma (who paid!!!), Mom and Tom, Uncle's Craig and Ron, Aunt's Lori and Karlene, Cousins Darci, Jason, Mike, Brooke, Whitney, Trek, Baylee, Brenly, Step Sisters Mandi, and Jessi, Step Brother-in-law Bronson, Step Brothers Jeremy and Jacob, Brother Chuck, Sister-in-law Amy, Toddlers Austin, Tyson, and Gage. Along with the four of us. It was nuts! We had Lori, Trek, Jacob, Jeremy, Mandi, Bronson, Gage, Chuck, Amy, Brooke, Whitney, Baylee, Brenly, Jessi, Travis, Myles, Mayzie, and myself in one room. It was interesting because we all have different schedules. The babies and Travis and I all go to bed a little earlier, but almost everyone else went to bed around midnight, which woke the babies and us up. Then, because we go to bed earlier, it means we wake up earlier-which woke everyone else up. Fun. I did get a few hours of sleep which was much more than expected. It was only for one night, then the four of us had to take off to head home. Anyway, here are some pictures of the adventure!

I'm a little irritated with myself, I was in a bad mood so we don't have any pictures of our family. I hate when I act that way because I always regret it. I really need to work on having a better attitude some times so I don't ruin things.
